The Jimmy The Pervert Trash Dump
In 1996,Jimmy The Pervert strode into a Memphis recording studio with an acoustic guitar,a wet dream, and a burning sensation in his testicles to record one of the funniest and most perverse CDs ever to be released, the now infamous My Dirty Little Secret.Mining the darker side of the human sexual psyche for lyrical grist,The Pervert has given us a CD capable of eliciting both uncontrollable laughter and disturbed silence from the listener, sometimes in the same song.No subject proves to be taboo,as The Pervert takes us on an unforgettable tour of the open sewer that is his mind. From beastiality to homosexual necrophelia, Jimmy puts many (I'm sure not all) of his bizzare fantasies and experiences to badly played acoustic guitar music, singing in a voice formed by whiskey, smokes, and phlegm...at I least I THINK it's phlegm.
The CD opens with The Pervert's mission statement,Do You Like Me?Declaring himself "try-sexual",Jimmy immediately leaves no doubt that he is up to,or down with, anything unnatural. When he says,"I will try anything",you believe it,no question.
This intro track flows into I Thought I Pooted,a deep, introspective examination of shitting your pants in Shoney's.Jimmy's gift for disgusting imagery is on full display early-really,you can almost smell this song, and some of you will doubtless claim you can smell it,anyway.
In Drinkin'And Loiterin', The Pervert takes us from Shoney's to the streets with his sweeping vision of compassion for a homeless man in need of a cigarette.
Jimmy tells of his deep,oh so deep, commitment to livestock in Lambchops For Life,a twisted tale,or is that tail,of the natural course of a relationship between a man and his ewe.
Who are WE to judge???
The next two songs, either directly or indirectly, deal with the subject of acid.In Ooh,What Is It?,Jimmy has an flashback-induced encounter with a Blob-like substance (semen?) he steps in.Pumpin'Ethel forwards his theory that LSD will make a toothless, unwashed homeless woman look hot as easily as gallons of liquor will.Once again,Jimmy brings love, comfort, and a hard dick to the aid of the disenfranchised.
The impact of genital sores on a relationship is examined with Love Herpes,a celebration of a love sealed by an incurable virus.Dylan should have this kind of insight.
Next is one of the most genuinely disturbing tracks on the CD,Uncle Ace.If you don't find this song funny, you feel bad, even angry. If you listen to it and laugh uproariously, you feel bad, even angry. This has to be one of the two most digusting tracks on this release, the other being Head To The Dead, the ode to the joys of homosexual necrophelia alluded to in the opening paragraph. The overwhelming thought I have as I listen to this is:how could a person stand in front of a live microphone in a studio and sing this shit?It takes either balls or clinical insanity, perhaps both.I don't recommend playing this song loudly in your car while stuck in traffic.
In the world of Jimmy The Pervert, even gas has an erotic allure.Cop A Poo finds Jimmy begging his woman to fart in the car, reminding one of a mooky- stinks obsessed David Allen Coe.In Ooh She Pooted,he seems to find the experience less pleasant,as his girlfriend's anal vapors interrupt a session.Easily as good as anything Brooks And Dunn have ever recorded.
My Friend Charlie serves two purposes lyrically;it recalls a partner-swapping experience with friends and examines the obvious yet neglected link between sentimental memories and venerial disease symptoms.Think about it.
How Can You Say Go With Come In Your Mouth? explains itself.Truly,a tour de force performance.
In Fuck Me With Love,The Pervert gives his first indication that he would like some emotional attachment to go along with all the debauchery and fisting, displaying an emotional vunerability previously only hinted at("suck my asshole, suck my dick, fuck me nekkid, make me sick, but darlin' when you fuck me,fuck me with love"),combined with his typically graphic word images.Soon to be recorded as a duet by Micheal Bolton and Celine Dion.
Jimmy continues the wistful frame of mind in The Only Thing I Ever Had,a thoughtful rumination on older days and better,if not quite so hygienic, lays gone by.
Will Sign Record Deal For Food has got to be the only song on this collection that took more than ten minutes to record.A full band of studio musicians back The Pervert up on this PG rated novelty number. Not a single sexual reference in the entire song, which is also true of the final cut,Stay On The Sunny Side, which considering the traumatic shock value of all that comes before these two songs, seems a really lame way to end such a shocking, obscene, hysterically funny CD.It's as if he's hoping that by the time the last two songs end, offended folks will have settled down enough to forget about calling the police.
So far as I know, this is Jimmy's only release to date.Only a guess, but I would bet he's waiting on a release date of a different nature.
I am soon to return to Memphis, the city where I stumbled upon this underground jewel of sick humor.Maybe, just, maybe, the legendary Jimmy The Pervert has another CD...
Nah!
